Through her sixteen-year friendship with the Reed family, Emily has become dedicated to the success of Life House Atlanta. “As a widow with two boys, I thought that being a single parent was the hardest job in the world. It’s not. Being a parent to a child with a life-limiting illness takes a toll that I don’t think anyone outside of that family can truly understand. I don’t worry about the health of my children 24/7. I get to take breaks with the help of a babysitter, grandparents, and friends. When your child has a severe disability, those options aren’t available because the average person doesn’t have the skill set to care for your child. Life House will provide this much-needed resource for the entire family to regroup, rest, and recharge while knowing their child is in the best of care. This is a gift we must see come to reality for these families.”

Emily is a Golden Isles native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Georgia Southern University. She began her career at design firms in St. Simons and Atlanta, focusing on various high-end residential and hospitality design projects, custom single-family homes, restaurant renovations, luxury yacht designs, and several historic golf club restorations. She spent ten years focusing on multi-family design with Design Environments in Marietta. She is the founder of E. Brooks Design where she concentrates on hospitality, multifamily and high-end residential design.

Emily values building and maintaining client relationships through daily communication during and after the design process. She believes that true collaboration between the client and design principals of architecture, landscaping, MEP, interiors, and structural engineers is key to success. Emily is certified by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
